\"For a person who has been at home for many years, coming to a meeting with a work coach can be an important, decisive step. For the meeting to be successful, we need to approach them with a genuine belief that they will start working. The person may never before have heard anyone say that they can get a job,\" says Christer Rindensbacher, project manager at Lumena Roslagen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Christer emphasises the importance of not focusing on getting people into work. Lumena in Roslagen will support 300 people during the project period with the aim of equipping the participant to take the next step closer to work or study.<\/p>\n

- The important thing is the small steps from one mode to another. There is a place for everyone and right now I say try Lumena when nothing else helps. I love finding people where they are and showing them steps in the right direction,\" says Christer.<\/p>\n

Experienced manager and people person<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>In his private life, Christer is a committed grandfather and grandmother who likes to play the guitar, go fishing and is keen to take part in wellness programmes. For him, Lumena's idea feels so right after many years as a manager in authorities.<\/p>\n

- I find out what people can and want and have never been afraid to tell people what they are good at. In this way, I have inspired many to dare to try new paths.<\/p>\n

This ability was already an asset in his managerial role at the Swedish Public Employment Service, where he realised how right and fun it was to work with people.<\/p>\n

- I see people where they are and find strengths in everyone, regardless of functional abilities and other things that may seem like an obstacle on the way to the labour market.<\/p>\n

Participant at the centre<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the head of the Swedish Public Employment Service, Christer came into contact with the union's previous ESF project, MIA Vidare. He became curious and got involved in the project, where he also had the opportunity to meet the participants.<\/p>\n

- I was interested in how the participants experienced going from one mode to another. It was a great meeting. Listening to a participant's story about what it is like to have contact with us authorities reminded me of the most important perspective: that of the person, the citizen, the participant. In Lumena, we listen to those who need support more than anything else. They know best what they want and need.<\/p>\n

Methodologies on principles of equality, equity and accessibility<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lumena Roslagen works with person-centred methods, which means that they are based on the participant's ability, will and dreams. In addition, the approach has been inspired by the Danish study called BIP. The study emphasises the importance of treatment.<\/p>\n

-The participant should feel that the job coach believes it is possible for them to get a job. It must be clear that it is real. With that in mind, we see every step as a path towards that goal.\"<\/p>\n

Lumena Roslagen asks all participants seven questions about violence. This has led to a frightening realisation. Many people experience obstacles in their everyday lives due to domestic violence.<\/p>\n

-Of course, we are working to bring in all the elements involved in creating an equal and inclusive labour market,\" says Christer.<\/p>\n
