1. Can you briefly describe your role as an accompanying researcher in this project?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My role is to highlight the research front on several themes of relevance to the organisations involved in the Lumena and Conecto projects (the Swedish Public Employment Service, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, 20 municipalities and Region Stockholm) and to conduct a sub-study on collaboration and activation of the unemployed. The aim is to create the conditions for operational research to strengthen the scientific basis and proven experience in ordinary activities.<\/p>\n

2. What are the most interesting or unexpected insights you have seen so far in your research?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Regarding the sub-study I will conduct, I am at the beginning of it so it is too early to comment on this. But what I have seen so far, and which is positive, is the project participants' great desire to do more for the users and their curiosity about the research front to learn what can be done better.<\/p>\n

3. What are the main challenges you have encountered in your role as an accompanying researcher?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I haven't encountered any challenges in my role as an accompanying researcher so far.<\/p>\n


\nMore about Alexandru<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alexandru Panican is Professor of Social Work at the Department of Behavioural, Social and Legal Sciences at \u00d6rebro University. He has a broad research interest, including citizenship with a focus on social rights, youth unemployment and students' transition from school to work, labour market policies and poverty.<\/p>\n

Alexandru is part of Lumena Conecto's research team conducting a study to investigate how labour market support can be changed to better and more fairly meet the needs of people far from the labour market. The study also focuses on how public actors can become more accessible to these groups.<\/p>\n

Together with Dr Renate Minas, who is part of the research team, they will be responsible for working on the issues:<\/p>\n
