In our campaign on horizontal principles in Lumena Conecto, we are currently shining a light on how racism and inequality can manifest in our organisations and how we can work for change.

<\/span><\/span><\/span>We have therefore asked three quick questions<\/strong> to Kitimbwa Sabuni<\/a>, the project's trainer on racism and inequality in organisations.

<\/div><\/div>
1. What is your role at Lumena Conecto?<\/strong><\/div>

My mission is to train employees of Lumena's sub-projects and other activities of the coordination association's porters on horizontal principles. To be specific, I focus on knowledge about racism in the workplace which is a significant barrier for people to establish themselves and reach their full potential in the labour market.

<\/p><\/div>

2. What do participants most often ask for when talking about racism and inequalities?<\/strong><\/div>
There is some anxiety around the topic of course but there is a difference between groups. White participants often ask for a language to talk about skin colour. Non-white participants lack safe spaces to discuss experiences and want leaders who have enough knowledge about racism to lead mixed groups with all that it entails.

3. What do you see as most important for change to happen in your daily work?<\/strong><\/div>
