The European Social Fund (ESF) website states that \"the ESF drives innovation and development for an inclusive labour market\". This means that all projects funded by the ESF must promote equality, accessibility and non-discrimination.<\/p>

All ESF projects must have expertise in these areas. In addition, the horizontal principles, known as HPs, must be clearly stated when describing the problems that the project aims to solve. Then, the work on equality, gender equality and non-discrimination must run horizontally, as a common thread throughout the project. The horizontal principles guide the work of Lumena and Conecto.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In Lumena and Conecto, horizontal principles were at the heart of the programme. We have integrated objectives of inclusion, gender equality and non-discrimination in the project application. From the start, we focus on practices and attitudes that break unhealthy norms and contribute to everyone's right to decent work. All activities will take these into account, from training, skills development and methodology work to behaviour.<\/p>

Gender equality<\/strong> is about working for equal rights and opportunities for both women and men. In Sweden, a lot of work is being done to help fulfil the gender equality policy objectives. The main goal is that \"Women and men should have the same power to shape their own lives\".<\/p>

Gender mainstreaming<\/strong>\u00a0is the Government's main strategy for achieving the gender equality policy objectives. This means that a gender equality perspective must be taken into account in all policies that affect people's conditions. The aim is for all women and men, girls and boys to be able to lead equal lives.<\/p>

Equality<\/strong>\u00a0is that all people have equal value, rights and opportunities in our society.<\/p>

Accessibility<\/strong>\u00a0is a term used to describe how well a community, organisation, place or facility works for people with disabilities. It means that everyone, regardless of functional ability, should be able to take part in the physical environment and be able to get around in society. It also means being able to access information and communicate, and to use products and services.<\/p>

Non-discrimination<\/strong>\u00a0is the work to ensure that no one is discriminated against on the basis of the seven different grounds of discrimination. These are gender, age, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or other belief and transgender identity or expression.<\/p>

Equal rights and opportunities\u00a0<\/strong>is the goal of non-discrimination, equality and gender equality. This means that all people should have equal rights and opportunities in society and the labour market.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Equal treatment<\/strong>\u00a0as a concept is close to equal rights and opportunities and is often used with the same meaning. It means that everyone should have the same opportunity to, for example, education, jobs and services regardless of gender, age, religion or other belief, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, transgender identity or expression (the seven grounds of discrimination).\u00a0<\/p>

Inclusion<\/strong>\u00a0is a broad concept that involves work on creating activities and projects where everyone can contribute based on their circumstances. Ensuring inclusion can mean working with all parts of activities and projects; from organisation and leadership to accessibility and treatment.<\/p>

Intersectionality<\/strong>\u00a0The word comes from the English word intersection, which can mean crossroads or intersection. It is used to denote how different power systems and grounds for discrimination influence and sometimes reinforce each other; a single power system cannot be understood independently of others. Intersectionality can be used as a tool for analysis in many different areas and also as a tool. For example, an intersectional analysis can highlight how special initiatives for certain target groups, such as newly arrived immigrants, the poorly educated or people with disabilities, do not take into account that people can belong to several target groups at the same time and have needs that require a combined effort.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
