Our co-operation with Youth 2030 Movement plays an important role in inclusion efforts. Youth 2030 is a member-driven non-profit association that supports municipalities, public authorities and civil society in their work to include and engage in dialogue with young people. They organise events where young people can raise their perspectives and proposals, and help decision-makers and other adults understand and address young people's needs and rights.
The participant perspective is central to Lumena and the project's position is that all participants have expertise that is invaluable to the projects but also to society at large.
Idea workshops and hackathons - concrete steps towards change
During the autumn, the Lumena sub-project has been running separatist idea workshops together with Youth2030. Here, young participants supported by Lumena have been able to talk, think and write together with other young education leaders from Youth2030 with the aim of improving the activities that support and help young people.
The feedback from the brainstorming workshops will be central to the next step: a hackathon on 5 December. A direct, co-creative meeting between young participants and decision-makers. Young people from Lumena, politicians, managers and key people will meet to co-create solutions. The aim? To strengthen young people's participation in decisions that affect their lives - at all levels of society.
With Youth2030's methodology, we can create meeting places where different perspectives intertwine and where dialogue takes place on equal terms. This model is not only an investment in young people, but in the future of the whole society.
