The participatory perspective in Lumena: All voices count

Participant perspective in focus at the Strategic Reference Group

On Wednesday, Lumena participants and the Strategic Reference Group gathered to discuss two key themes: participant involvement and gaps in collaboration. The focus was on exploring how we can work together to create real change for people who are currently excluded from the labour market.

What is the Strategic Reference Group?
The group is made up of peer researchers, heads of federations and key individuals from civil society actors and our member partners. It has an important role in contributing to strategic advocacy and policy change through its expertise, engagement and ability to influence.

Focus on user involvement and participation
During the meeting, our accompanying researcher Ulla-Karin Schön presented insights on user involvement and participation. The discussions around the table touched on several key issues:
◾ What is important from a participant perspective?
◾ What are the different organisations already doing today?
◾ What should Lumena Conecto do more or less of?
◾ What can we do going forward?

What happens next?
The discussions provided us with valuable lessons and concrete ideas for future work. By combining the participant perspective with strategic collaboration, we are taking the next step towards creating a labour market that is open to all. What do you think is most important to include more people in the labour market?
