The Lumena Conecto researchers

We are pleased to introduce our accompanying researchers who play an important role in evaluating and contributing to learning during the project.

I Lumena Conecto evidence-based methods and approaches are central and form the basis of our work for maximum impact. To continually evaluate the work with these methods, there are accompanying researchers attached to Lumena Conecto who both support and contribute to new learning. The projects, together with the researchers, will contribute to continued and up-to-date learning on methods, approaches and skills development.

Follow-up research is about being present throughout the process and creating the conditions for learning, change and improvement in real time. Our peer researchers bring a deeper understanding of what works - and why.

We are convinced that operational research creates better structures where researchers and professionals can collaborate and formulate joint research questions based on the needs of the operations, which in turn contributes to knowledge about the support needs of different target groups, about different rehabilitation and labour market interventions, and about how we can work preventively and promotionally to counteract exclusion.

Ulla-Karin Schön is Professor of Social Work at the Department of Social Work at Stockholm University. Her research focuses on user participation, user perspectives and participatory design. She has extensive experience of leading participatory research in municipalities and regions and with people with experience of disability. Schön will have the role of overall responsible researcher. She will be involved in all aspects of the project, including ethical applications and management, data collection, data analysis, peer review processes and dissemination of the results.

 

Mr Joakim Tranquist holds a Master's degree in Political Science from Lund University and is an evaluator. He has extensive experience in planning, implementing and reporting on evaluation projects on labour market policy interventions at both structural and individual level and a long experience of following up projects funded by ESF and coordination associations.

 

Tobias Hübinette is a PhD in Korean Studies, Associate Professor of Intercultural Pedagogy and Senior Lecturer in Educational Work, as well as a teacher of intercultural studies and Swedish as a second language at the Department of Language, Literature and Interculture at Karlstad University. Also teaches gender studies and literary studies. Research interests and research areas include critical race and whiteness studies, adoption and migration studies, Korean and Asian studies, cultural studies and critical theory, and visual studies and postcolonial theory. Is a member of the KAU-funded Cultural Studies Research Group (KuFo) (link) and has written, among others, the publication What is equality data? (link)

 

Mr Alexandru Panican is a PhD in Social Work at Örebro University. He has a broad research interest, including citizenship with a focus on social rights, youth unemployment and students' transition from school to work, labour market policies and poverty. Among other things, he has written the publication Interaction with competing knowledge claims in local activation policies (link). 

 

Mrs Renate Minas is Professor of Social Work at the Department of Social Work, Stockholm University. Her research interests include European social policy, organisation of the welfare state, social assistance and activation. She has participated in various comparative projects on the organisation of social policy areas in European countries (SOCASS; RESCALING: INSPIRES) and has participated in European social policy networks (RECWOWE). Has participated in a Nordic project on young people's difficulties in entering the labour market and is currently project manager for a project on young people who neither work nor study (UVAS). This is a Forte project: Beyond good examples. Analyses of municipal variations in interventions for young people who neither work nor study. 

 

Jon Ohlsson is Professor of Pedagogy at the Department of Education and Didactics at Stockholm University. He researches and teaches organisational pedagogy and learning in working life, with a special focus on collective learning in teams and organisations.

 

Johanna Gustafsson holds a PhD in Disability Studies and works as a senior lecturer at Örebro University. Her main research focus is mainly on vocational rehabilitation and working life for people with disabilities, with a special interest in the Supported Employment (SE) method. She is active as a researcher in several different projects and her research currently concerns, among other things, Supported employment and gender, implementation of Supported employment, solution-focused dialogue methods and health in upper secondary school students and the social services' work on people with disabilities who are exposed to domestic violence. Johanna has several international assignments and collaborations. Since 2016, she is the Swedish expert in the Academic Network of Experts in Disability (ANED), which reports to the European Commission. She is also an international expert in INTEGRATE, a research programme at Oslo Metropolitan University. Johanna has been involved in several assignments in the welfare sector. In recent years, she has had assignments as process support in the project Breddad Rekrytering run by SKR, evaluator of Arvsfonden's Egen Kraft project and evaluator in the implementation of Supported Employment at Jobbtorg Stockholm. Johanna has also had several different international assignments regarding disability issues.
