Today, many people talk about ”Matching from Day 1”, or MD1, as a solution to increase labour force participation and employment for recent immigrants to Sweden. But what is it? How has it changed the way employment services work with matching? And how can it improve conditions for our target groups?
On 19 September between 9.00 and 11.00 you have the chance to listen to Arbetsförmedlingen's Ayse Andersson, creator of the method, and Magnus Rödin from Arbetsförmedlingen's analysis department. They will tell you how the method was developed during the ESF-funded project Jämställd Etablering (Equal Establishment), which was run by Arbetsförmedlingen between 2017 and 2021.
The aim of the project was to implement and evaluate the impact of a matching initiative aimed at people who are new to the Swedish labour market or who have difficulty entering on their own.
The results show that ”Matching from Day 1” makes it possible to increase the proportion of people moving into employment by using the right designed methods. It also showed that it works for those in the target group who are furthest from the labour market. ”Matching from Day 1” has helped to change the way employment services match foreign-born jobseekers.
The lecture is aimed at: Those who work with labour market issues. Those who are curious about developing welfare and those who want to contribute to a more equal and equal labour market.
After the lecture you have: A deeper insight into how the methodology has worked in practice and how the new working conditions introduced by ”Matching Day 1” have given rise to new working strategies. These are important pieces of the puzzle to understand what made the good results possible.
The lecture will take place on Zoom
