Lecture on Neuropsychology in co-operation with Hjärnkraft

Last week we had an awareness-raising lecture on neuropsychology, organised in collaboration with Brain Injury Association Hjärnkraft.
The lecture was chaired by Aron Sjöberg, licensed psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist with over 15 years of experience.

The lecture gave us an overview of the consequences of cognitive impairments, various acquired brain injuries and neurological diseases. Aron also emphasised the importance of always keeping cognitive impairments in mind.
For example, there is a group of patients who may have cognitive problems following diabetes, COVID-19, heart failure, hypothyroidism or depression.
These patients often fall through the cracks in healthcare. Therefore, open inclusion criteria for investigation and assessment are needed to meet this patient need.

About Brainpower:
Hjärnkraft works to create better conditions for people with acquired brain injury and their families. They organise meetings (Hjärnträff) to develop the conditions for young people with acquired brain injury. This may involve, for example, joining social forums, working or studying.
