”We seek out people who need support”

”We're going to find new participants who need our support to get to work or study, but may not know what help they can get. We know there are jobs and opportunities, but you need to think a bit differently.  The project makes it easy to get the right support. Just call us, or send us an SMS”, says Susanne Johansson, sub-project manager for Alis Lumena Södertälje.

Ali's Lumena has a clear purpose: to create sustainable jobs and studies for people who feel they do not have access to support.

-Visiting schools, leisure centres and associations is high on the agenda. In this way, we reach people who may not know that they can get support to reach the labour market. It is an important part of the work for an equal and gender-equal labour market," says Susanne.

Two names, one vision

A role model is the Alis project, which is now included in Lumena. Alis is a functioning organisation aimed at people aged between 18 and 30.

-At Lumena 30+, we work in a similar way with those aged 30 and over. It is reassuring that ALIS has worked so well. Developing collaboration and cooperation suits my personal drive, which is to have an activity that suits everyone, where you can make the biggest difference for people," says Susanne.

Support in several areas of life

The uniqueness of the projects is that the support can be provided in different areas of life. Like Ali's, Lumena will offer support around more challenges in life.

-With the help of mentors, participants can receive guidance on housing, finances and debts, violence, care contacts and other issues that prevent them from taking a place in the labour market. "Research shows that by putting several interventions in place at the same time to help people with the whole, we achieve better results," says Susanne.

Susanne has previously worked in various projects and helped to build up an IPS organisation in Södertälje, EFA. She has deep and broad experience of the target groups and emphasises accessibility as an important success factor. To sign up for Ali's Lumena, you just send an SMS, or you call.

The vision in line with the overall project objectives.

In the project, employees focus on regular studies or jobs in the open labour market. Which we have seen leads to more sustainable long-term individual solutions.

-Those who come to us will get jobs. The goals are good and challenging, but not impossible. Many people don't believe they have the opportunities they do. We will help them see that it is possible to succeed. We believe in this. There is a great demand for labour, and we can see that in the Alis project, for example," says Susanne.
