Lumena Conecto at the 2024 Skills Arena Competence Forum

Lumena Conecto's project manager Maria Reed and process manager Hanna Zaid, together with Justus Aromaa, manager at Systembolaget, participated today in Kompetensarena's Competence Forum 2024 to talk about how the project works to get people who are far from the labour market into work and inspire those who listened.

We particularly highlighted the BIP study, the evidence-based methods and being a learning organisation as success factors. Justus highlighted a number of key words from an employer perspective to include more people in working life; Collaboration, networks and dare / be brave.

The Competence Forum was attended by the Competence Council and representatives of the Stockholm Region, the social partners, the education system, authorities and the county's municipalities through StorSthlm. Kompetensarena works in collaboration to promote sustainable growth and competitiveness and is coordinated by Region Stockholm.

We were able to listen to a dialogue between Kompetensarena Stockholm's competence council and State Secretary Sophia Metelius at the Ministry of Labour. StorSthlm's representative, municipal councillor Tomas Selin (C) from Huddinge municipality, highlighted the importance of the role of the Coordination Associations in labour market policy and Lumena Conecto as a good example of how we can support people who are far from the labour market and how, with the help of funding from the European Social Fund, we can together help more people to work and study.

The meeting also discussed the action plan for Kompetensarena Stockholm. One of the key areas in Kompetensarena's action plan for 2025 is to include those who are far from the labour market.

Lumena Conecto is pleased to have been invited to this forum to share how we are successfully working together to support and help more people take a first step towards work or study.
