Lumena Conecto has committed itself to the important work of increasing the influence and empowerment of our participants. We have drawn on experiences from previous efforts that worked with the same target group. In addition to the supervisors’ work in helping participants take ownership of their life planning on the way to work and studies, Lumena Conecto also intends to open the doors to participation and influence in decisions that affect the entire management chain.
This is a major and important change and development effort that requires dedication and determination at all levels. It requires everyone to be on board. It requires planning and implementation. It requires heart and brains. Here are a few of the ways we will work with influence and self-empowerment during the project period.
Youth 2030 Movement
We are happy and proud of our ongoing collaboration with Youth 2030 Movement (link) as an actor and guide in this important work. Lumena Conecto will implement their democratization model of influence and self-empowerment. They will assist employees, participants, and all parts of the governance chain in the work of influence and self-empowerment.
Development Group for Self-determination and Inclusion
At Lumena, a development group works on empowerment and inclusion, where the exchange of experiences and learning, combined with activities related to the subject that emerge in the work with participants in Lumena, is a priority. In the long term, the ambition and goal is to have contributed to increased influence and empowerment of participants in Lumena. A democratization model with support from Youth 2030 will take shape during the project. If you would like to know more, please feel free to contact our process manager. Ted Srigley (mail) that leads this work.
Participant stories
A first step in this process is that we have opened up the opportunity for participants in Lumena Conecto to contribute with personal stories that are launched through our website. Participants have the opportunity to schedule an interview with our journalist. Martina Kopra (mail) who works with communication within the project support. They also have the opportunity to submit their own disclaimers/images, which are also published on our website.
The regional steering group
On February 21st, the Youth 2030 Movement will hold an introductory workshop together with the regional steering group. The workshop will culminate in a Official decision about initiating the process of including participants This is a big and important step in this democratization effort.
