Anti-discrimination office
Conecto's lecture on discrimination was given by Annika Heikkinen, Director of the Anti-Discrimination Office, and Maria Refai, lawyer.
The Anti-Discrimination Agency works for people's right not to be discriminated against, and for equal rights and opportunities in society. They went through the seven grounds of discrimination and concrete court cases on ethnicity and religion.
Discrimination Ombudsman, DO
The second lecture was given by Love Ander, an investigator at the Discrimination Ombudsman. Love talked about the work on the agency's report on ”the prevalence of discrimination in working life”.
The report shows that discrimination is widespread in society and that there are high risks of discrimination in the labour market and in schools.
