Collaboration between several ESF projects - a success factor

During a recent conference organised by the Gävleborg Coordination Association, the Östra Södertörn Coordination Association shared its experiences from the SamMa project. The co-operation between the new SATSA and Lumena/Conecto projects was also on the agenda.

- "We talked about how we have worked to offer work-oriented support to young people with disabilities who have high support needs. We also talked about how we managed to implement the support," says Margaretha Nylander, former project manager of the SamMa project, now project manager of the SATSA project.

The SamMA teams added new functions and were based on the Supported Employment method. At the same time, parallel interventions were provided in the form of case manager support and health interventions where the occupational therapist was an important function in collaboration with the Supported Employment supervisor.

- We also worked in a development-oriented way and helped to draw up agreements on collaboration between the municipality's activities and the Social Insurance Agency. All three municipalities involved in the project now have agreements. All of them have opened up for the labour market units to receive participants who have LSS.

Collaboration between the SATSA and Lumena/Conecto projects
During the conference, the SATSA and Lumena/Conecto projects were also discussed by Margaretha and Karin Benzler, investigators at the Coordination Association Östra Södertörn.

-Both projects are a continuation of the SamMA project and the MIA project. SATSA and Conecto collaborate on the Supported Education method where participants and managers from Lumena and SATSA receive training programmes that we have procured from RSMH, the National Association for Social and Mental Health. In the future, we have also planned to collaborate on the government assignment Discovering Violence, which both projects will work with," concludes Margaretha.
