The Swedish Constitution of 1974 states that the public authorities must combat all forms of discrimination. Yet it points out Discrimination Ombudsman, DO and other knowledge authorities that discrimination exists and that outcomes in public organisations are often unequal.
Most recently we saw this in a report from Social Security Inspectorate (ISF), which was commissioned by the government to examine whether The Social Insurance Agency treats different groups differently in the processing of sickness benefit. The review shows that there are signs that individuals are treated differently on the basis of origin, gender and age in several processing stages.
Within the framework of the Co-ordination Association's funded initiatives, we are working intensively to combat all forms of discrimination - with the aim of strengthening the inclusion of different groups in the labour market. Earlier this week, Lumena Conecto, in partnership with Adili Learning and Mauridi Sabuni a workshop on racism in business where, among other things, the concepts of 'colour blindness' and 'colour awareness' were discussed.
